The FMD Singers consists of three unique and very friendly adult choirs which welcome anyone who likes to sing but have not dared to do it in public.
Fortissimen – Our men’s acappella choir meets at 7.15pm on Thursdays. Fortissimen sing a variety of close harmony pieces e.g. our recent performance included The Wellerman sea shanty and The Longest Time, Billy Joel.
Friday Choir – Our ladies choir meet at 2pm on a Friday afternoon. The choir performs pieces from Handel to Sondheim and Tina Turner. We have been known to share a glass of rose on the odd afternoon!
Thursday Choir – We run a mixed choir on a Thursday evening at 8pm, for all abilities. There is no need to read music, just turn up and sing! The choir performs a wide genre of music including numbers from pop, musical theatre and old classics.
Jenny and Edward, who run all the choirs offer a friendly, non-pressurised environment where singers can have fun singing but also feel confident about their voice and singing in public. Apart from having fun we also aim for each individual to improve their vocal ability.
